Jonah 4:1-5
No.6- Mad @God

Have you ever been mad at God? Have you ever been frustrated with how He does things? A couple weeks ago a friend I had not heard from in several years reached out and asked me if they could borrow $50. No biggie, I’m hip, I’ll use Venmo. They insisted I use cash app. “I don’t have cash app; I don’t use cash app.” They got frustrated “Can you open a cash app account? It’s what I use, it’s easier for me that way” No I can’t. There response was bizarre… “Never mind, just forget it, I’ll go hungry”… I was like… Ok, good talk! Out of the blue, asking for $, frustrated I wouldn’t help them on their terms. Like, where’s the gratitude dude? Many Christians have the same approach to God, especially when we think God’s plan doesn’t fit ours, we get mad. How could people who have received the riches of God’s mercy love and grace ever be frustrated with God? Have you ever gotten to that place in your relationship with God? How can you spot this pattern in your life? You say “Oh that’s not me I would never be mad @God”... Don’t be so sure. All of us get mad @God without knowing. Jonah had gotten to the place in his life where he wanted obedience on God’s terms.
