Today’s passage is one of the more well-known stories about Jesus feeding a mass of hungry people. Of course, there are many places in scripture where the church is commanded to feed the hungry. It’s all through the New Testament. As I wrote this week, my first thoughts went to how God uses our little church in the area of mercy & community care. Our mercy team and its humble leaders do amazing, compassionate, efficient, effective, and relentless work. From food and clothes to help with shelter, medicine, transportation, the team is constantly serving a hurting crowd. Clearly this is the lesson we take away from today’s story of Jesus feeding the 5,000 right? OK lets close in prayer… Perhaps, it's not that simple? Let’s dive in and see what we can see shall we? Maybe we see this story in a new way?
