MARK 6:14–20
No.24- A Frightening Resurrection

Easter is an annual reminder of the good news of how Jesus conquered death and rose from the grave. It certainly is good news of course, our savior has died for our sins, then conquered death so we might have life! Have you ever thought about the other side of a resurrection That as good as it is, there are winners and losers? In some of the greatest movies or stories, the climactic point is when the hero is resurrected. Stories of good guys defeated by evil (bad guys) then they somehow come back to life and defeat evil. But every resurrection story has a side that’s not so thrilled, a side that loses because of a resurrection. The Matrix, Star Wars, Game of Thrones, just off the top of my head as examples of victorious resurrections. Imagine being the bad guy?  You kill the good guy standing in your way, then bam they come back to life! How much worse can it get for the bad guy? You think you’re safe, only to learn the good guy can’t be killed. You can see how a resurrection would be bad news for one side right? That’s where we pick up our study of Mark, we learn about how one man was frightened of a possible resurrection.
