MARK 4:1–13
No.16- Ears To Hear, Part 1

I have a confession to make. It centers around the Rubik’s Cube. I have never solved it, never even close. I have however pealed the stickers off, then later discovered how to take it apart and assemble it solved. To this day It has just never clicked with me, the secret to solve it, and probably never will… I have given up. But have you ever had one of those moments in your life when a mystery was somehow revealed? A revelation that made you realize the way you had looked at something before was all wrong? A moment of epiphany that brought immense comfort and satisfaction when something puzzling became clear? That is the nature of this next portion of scripture in Mark, It’s the Rubik’s cube of theology. Two places in Mark where he spends a lot of time on Jesus’ teaching are in chapter 4 and 13. It starts here and goes for over 30 verses and several different parables, all with one main truth. His emphasis here means Mark believes this is a very important passage, we’ll take 2 weeks to cover the first parable.
