Studying this passage this week, I kept picturing the massive crowd on shore & Jesus with His disciples in the boat. It made me ponder this possibility: Is there a difference between following Jesus and really knowing Jesus? What if following Jesus is the easy part, the part that everyone can be good at? Is it possible that what some of us are doing today with Jesus might just “miss the boat”? What you will learn today is in fact, following Jesus isn’t enough. We must KNOW Jesus; we must be a disciple! You will learn that being a part of the Jesus crowd is very different from knowing Jesus and being in the boat with him. You will also learn that a true connection to Jesus is 100% on HIS terms, not ours.
