No.5- Authority From Heaven

Have you ever experienced that feeling something is evil? Evil is not a topic that we like to talk about too much in church. Our first reaction is to dismiss it or explain it away. Are you uncomfortable talking about evil? Especially in church service? Are some of you cringing already? You know it exist, but really, many of you don’t take it too seriously, it’s something “out there”, not “in here.” What are the reasons we would rather avoid it? Dismiss it? Is it fear of its unknown nature? Its power? It’s more comfortable to focus on grace, mercy, forgiveness and compassion, liturgy, and loving one another. Ironically, evil is one of the best proofs for the existence of God. The concepts of good & evil don’t exist without moral absolutes and without absolutes, it’s all just each person’s opinion. Logically, moral relativism is the only rational conclusion for those who don't believe in absolute authority of God. Today we are going to tackle evil head on, even if it makes you uncomfortable and Jesus shows us how.
