No.18- Game Time

My 1st season as a head HS football coach, we were a brand-new program. We were motivated, practiced hard. But I really had no way of knowing how my team measured up until we played our first opponent. The night before, was sleepless, nervous, but in humble confidence we were ready to find out who we were. Game time was judgement time, to see what kind of team we had While I was nervous, I was also ready, excited. I didn’t want to avoid the game, I wanted to play the game! I was a afraid of losing, but I wasn’t afraid of playing. At some point we all need a game day for faith tested & judged. We need to know if it’s real or just religious. At some point we need to see evidence our walk with Jesus is making progress, becoming what God calls us to be. At some point… We need to play a game! We need to know we are who we say we are as followers of Jesus. How many sermons have you listened to in your life? Ok let’s make it easier, how many here at GraceLife? Is there a way to measure how you are applying the things we learn from God’s Word into our lives? The only way to know how strong our faith is, is to play a game.  We need to be tested. The problem is, too many of us are content with just practicing, rarely getting on the field to play.
