How can you know for certain your soul has been purified & transformed by the power of the Gospel? In my career as a pastor, it’s been oft asked. it’s one of the things most people who need comfort want to know. In America, even when life gets tough, we have it easy compared to the suffering of Peter’s readers. Imagine if every aspect of your life was unstable, unsure, and hope of salvation was the only thing you had! Being confident of our connection to the Father becomes so critical, especially if you are facing potential demise. Some people might be surprised to know scripture gives us a way to know for sure if you’ve been saved. I have something to say to you who are confident you have eternal life. I also have something to say to you who aren’t sure you have eternal life, you are Christians, but not sure. I also have something for those of you who are not ready to follow Jesus, you too can know how to have eternal life.
