When was the last time Jesus captured your full attention—when He became the most important person in the room. Maybe it was a miraculous intervention, the moment the Gospel became personal, or a time God used you to impact someone else’s life. Those moments stay with us. I remember when God saved me as a ninth grader, and again eighteen months later when He called me into ministry—both overwhelming, unforgettable encounters. Today’s passage tells the story of a woman who had that kind of moment with Jesus. Mary, the sister of Lazarus, recognized who He was so clearly that her love overflowed into an extravagant act of worship—breaking open a flask of costly oil and pouring it on Him. The disciples called it a waste, but Jesus called it beautiful. This week we see what bold, wholehearted devotion looks like when love for Jesus becomes the driving force of a person’s life.
