Have you ever found yourself somewhere you never thought you’d be, asking yourself, “How did I get here?” You didn’t just wake up one morning wanting to rebel against God. Instead, a series of small, seemingly reasonable decisions slowly took you there. Not because you stopped loving Jesus or stopped believing the Bible, but because fear, exhaustion, disappointment, or simply the pressure of real life slowly convinced you that trusting God wasn’t enough. At least not right now. You didn’t walk away from God. That would have been obvious. You started making practical choices that seemed wise at the time, but they slowly pulled you away from God and His people. And before you knew it, you’re standing in a place you never thought you’d stand, wondering how in the world you got there. This morning, we’re going to watch the man who stood up to Goliath… now finds himself standing shoulder to shoulder with the enemies of God’s people. The most unsettling part is, he doesn’t seem to realize how close he is to disaster.
