Wilderness Workshops

Sunday we talked about the work that God did on David when he was in the wilderness, and how that shaped the man, and the King he became.

No one likes waiting. I had to stop at the store on the way home, and had to wait for an open register. It was raining and I wanted to get home. I didn’t want to have to wait. We often see delays as inconvenient. But David’s delay was preparatory. Ours often is as well.

I always say God doesn’t wear a watch. Our time is not his time. We can only see the “right now,” when God sees the forever. He is always at work in us and for us. There is always a workshop. And in those workshops we are the clay. He is changing us, for our futures. We just have to let Him.
